Excellent as always! I’ve been going to Wheels MOT Centre for around 7 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Joe and his team are always professional, honest, and reliable. Recently had some major work done on my BMW (oil filter housing gasket, belts, coolant work etc.), and as always the job was completed to a high standard. They take the time to explain everything clearly and never try to upsell unnecessary work, which is rare these days. The service is consistently excellent, pricing is fair, and the quality of work gives real peace of mind. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and their reputation. Highly recommended – a trustworthy garage with great staff. Thank you!

I’m really disappointed writing this review because, up until this happened, I had actually had very good service from this garage. I had used them before for my MOT, annual service, and minor repairs, and never had any issues, which is exactly why I trusted them with my Mercedes gearbox service and paid in advance. I was advised that the gearbox needed servicing after 70,000 miles, so before booking the car in, I specifically asked whether they were able to do that job properly on my car. They said yes, so I went ahead. When I collected the car the next day, it didn’t feel right straight away. As I drove out of the garage, it gave a slight jolt, but I thought maybe that was normal after the work had just been done. But by the time I got close to home, the car started shaking violently. I called the garage immediately and explained what had happened, and they told me to bring it back the next day. I did exactly that, but after inspecting the car, they said they couldn’t find the issue. What upset me most was the way the situation was handled after that. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, they started saying the fault must already have been there before I brought the car in. I know for a fact that my car did not have this problem before the gearbox service. Because I had lost confidence at that point, I took the car to another garage. After opening the gearbox, they found it was around 3 litres short of oil, and I was told that this was what caused the damage. So in the end, I paid this garage £500 for the original work, received no refund, and then had to pay another £4,000 to replace the entire gearbox. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had trusted this garage based on my previous positive experiences with them. That is why I feel so upset about how this particular job was handled. Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using them for major mechanical work like gearbox servicing.

We always aim to provide a high standard of service, so it’s disappointing to hear that you left feeling this way. After your visit, we did carry out checks on the vehicle when it was returned to us, and at that time we were unable to replicate or identify the fault described. As discussed, gearbox systems, particularly on vehicles like Mercedes, can be complex, and in some cases underlying issues may not become immediately apparent until after servicing has been completed. We completely understand how frustrating this situation must have been, especially given the subsequent repair required. However, based on our findings during inspection, we did not identify any evidence at the time to suggest that the issue was directly caused by the service carried out. That said, we truly value your previous support and are sorry that this experience has impacted your confidence in us. If you would be open to it, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you and review the situation in more detail.
